Watch out, more fraudsters about!

The owner of a wheel clamping firm has recently been jailed after being told his wheel clamping company was nothing more than a simple con.

Car Clamper Andrew Baker, owner of Inter Park UK, was jailed after being found guilty of conspiracy to defraud drivers in Birmingham and the West Midlands between early 2007 and early 2008. Baker showed no emotion as he received his two year sentence. His wheel clamps and wheel clampers had left dozens of motorists stranded and distressed, even some who had paid and displayed.

Criminal Baker has previous convictions of robbery, obtaining property by deception, harassment and theft.

His firm was set up legally in 2005 but turned into a scam, in which vehicles were clamped and towed away with charges of up to £445 for the return of the cars.
